Dear Members of the Kokni Muslim Community

 

Despite a delay of over a year due to the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to finally launch our newly designed website. We trust this forum will help us bridge the gap and share our activities and projects with our Kokni brethren overseas.

 

We shall be celebrating 100 years of existence of Kokni Muslim Association in April 2025, and I take this early opportunity to invite all our Kokni brothers and sisters, both locally and internationally, to join us in planning and celebrating this auspicious occasion.

 

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all past Chairmen and Managing Committee members who have contributed towards the establishment of a united and progressive Kokni community in Nairobi. It is your commitment and passion that has brought us to where we stand today.

 

Thanks also goes to our community members for their continued support and confidence in the leadership of both past and present Managing Committees. Your active participation in community activities is what drives us to provide an enabling environment for a united and successful community.

 

Finally, I wish to call upon the youth to take a more active role in the affairs of our community. You are the future leaders of this great community and when we see you take the helm it brings us elders great joy and satisfaction. Continuity of good leadership is a mark of success for leadership of yester years.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I take this opportunity to welcome you to our Web page.

 

The Current Trustees were elected In AGM of 2019 at the 91st Annual General Meeting and the following members were elected as Founder Trustees of the New Trust Deed :-

 

1. Sayed Hasan Alhaddad (Chairman)
2. Bhaudin Abdul Gafoor Khares
3. Omar Osman Khambiye
4. Mustafa Osman Khambiye
5. Hussein Abdulsattar Mukadam

The trustees are Five (5) In Number and have a term of Four (4) years. They are eligible for re-election in an AGM of the association every Four (4) years.

 

The Main Responsibilities of the Trustees are set out below:-

 

1. To hold all immovable assets of Kokni Muslim Association, Nairobi, subject to resolutions of the Managing Committee and the Annual General Meeting of the Association.
2. To co-operate with other agencies, organizations, trusts, institutions, Associations, charities and communities in Kenya and overseas in furtherance of the objects of the trust.
3. To invest trust funds in suitable securities or to purchase, sell, transfer, build, dispose, own and manage land rights over land for the benefit of the Association in accordance with the trust deed and the Constitution of Kokni Muslim Association, Nairobi.

As part of Part (c) above:-

 

Our Association has embarked on new ambitious projects like community hall (which will include Youth gaming activities facility) and 8 No. Residential flats, at our KMCC community centre, South C, Nairobi. (Details of which you shall get on the Donate page). Insha Allah, we intend to complete these before our centennial celebrations in 2025.

 

Please feel free to write to us and give any suggestions, and urge all Members to actively participate in all our activities and also advice the Youth to Register as Members so as to take active part in all aspects of the Association. we are in process of Nurturing our Youth to positions of responsibility in the managing committee and any Members interested can contact me directly or any of the Trustee members.
